Community Hub

Our Current Community Hub project is part of our Girl’s Empowerment Group who are undertaking a Period Empowerment Project in partnership with these local primary and secondary schools in Simonga:

• Tongabezi Trust School

• Simonga Secondary School

• Simonga Thandizani School

The aim of this project is to ensure the Girls Empowerment Group are able to practically address the gap in their access to menstrual resources through being self-sufficient when it comes to the management of their menstrual cycle. In addition to this, the project is also geared towards a departure from single-use menstrual products which can be said to have a negative impact on the environment.

In June 2023, we partnered with the Jumeirah English Speaking School to deliver workshops in which their students conducted one day workshops to introduce the groups to new designs of menstrual pads as well as provide some basic menstrual hygeine education.
